Digidesignresort still doesn't GET it!

They continue to STILL not understand what LIFETIME membership means. She thinks she's doing us a "favor" with 1 year free. This email went out to all members of the Safari Lounge. Just stating facts. No rumors here. My response follows her note. Since then, I have sent her a copy of her original agreement. I just may be posting that next. I'm only looking for her to do the "right" thing with customers of the Safari Lounge.

I just wanted to send you a quick email because my further mail has obviously caused some confusion. That was, of course, not my purpose.

Of course - there will be NO break of contract for lifetime members. The forum will stay open so you will always get what you´ve paid for.

BUT we have moved the content to the blog - for better overview and to add MORE content.

Lifetime members get a FREE 13 months subscription if they want to move to the blog - after that their membership expires.

Or, if you prefer to stay in the forum you do not need to do anything and you will ALWAYS have access there - this was just an offer from my site to have access to additional content for 13 months to come.

I do NOT cut your access in the forum, you will always be able to access this content. But for new content you will need to pay after 2012

So actually we give you a present of 13 months of membership to the NEW Safari Lounge.

This explanation is still showing that you are in breach of contract for Lifetime members. Just moving content to another location does not stop a Lifetime membership. It is STILL the Safari Lounge. Lifetime members should be able to access old and new content for the "lifetime" of the 'Safari Club". New members, coming in, would need to pay a yearly fee. That is the way for every Lifetime membership I have ever belonged to. Yours should be no exception. Sites are moved to different locations all the time, for various reasons. But the members and agreements follow the moves and clubs. Believe me, none of us think that the free year is a gift, in any sense of the word. It's actually a slap in the face to the Lifetime members. We expect to go with the new move and to receive any new content that is added, along with the previous content.

Lifetime Membership not honored at Digidesignresort

A couple of years ago, I signed up for a Lifetime membership to The Safari Club in Digidesignresort's site. They were providing tutorials for Photoshop with elements, etc. Sounded good. They had a beginner and intermediate group. I signed up for both & paid my membership fees. Paid my money and all was fine.

UNTIL - a week or so ago when I received an email from the owner, telling me that they were moving the Safari Club to a yearly membership fee. Anyone with a Lifetime membership was to pay yearly now. ExCUSE me? What part of Lifetime does she not understand?

I have challenged this decision and have been told that I either go to the yearly membership or just stay where I am with all the older tutorials and no updates...EVER! I told her that I expected to be grandfathered into the new site as a Lifetime member. She took "quite" the offense to it and has accused me of being disrespectful and if I pursue it any further or try to tell anyone about it, she will pursue legal action. She (Monja) also told me that she was going to have her attorney husband send a letter to my government. LOL Like President Obama and our FBI care about her scrapping site. She told me that she has the last word and wasn't too nice about it. This IS the USofA and we have free speech, the last time I looked. And it seems that "I" am the victim here, not her. I am not getting what I paid for. Oh, and was I offered a partial refund? Nope. tsk tsk and shame on Digidesignresort. Especially when there are so many wonderful scrap sites to patronize.

Great Grandson Anthony Gardening & FREE Quick Page

This is a scrapbook page that I just finished for our Great Grandson, Anthony. When he comes to visit, he wants me to take him to the back yard so that he can water my plants. Fortunately, his Mom, Samantha, usually has an extra change of clothes for him, since he ends up a tad wet. He's now 4 years old and such a good helper.

Scrapbook layout was started from a template by Simply Tiffany Studios. Scrapbook papers and elements from Secret Stash Digital Scrapbooking 's free kit, "Hello Fall". The kit is free if you LIKE their Facebook page and sign up for their newsletter. The BOY element is not part of the kit and I don't know the designer to give credit. Afternoon at the Rose Garden

Ron and I took a nice walk through our cities local Rose Garden since all the roses are in full bloom and gorgeous at this time of year. Also gave me a good excuse to play with the new camera. So, there was a lot of "stopping to smell the roses" going on. And an excuse for another scrapbook page.

Happy Easter to all. It's tradition, with my DH and myself, to color eggs the day before Easter. Kids have been gone, from home, a long time ago. But we continue the tradition. Which means it's been 34 years and counting now. Hard boiled eggs taste so much better when they are colored, don't you agree? This is the page I put together to remember it always.

Grand Daughters Scrapbook Page

In December, our Grand daughters came to Calif to visit family. We were so happy to have them stay with us. They are "such" great gals. Their cousins took them to San Francisco for the day and it turned out to be a typical rainy, foggy day in the city.

To remember their visit, I completed a scrapbook page using Kim B's Designs kit called Mulberry Fields and a template that she shared with us. It's my birthday and I've been celebrating all month long. Which is only right, at my age. Never mind, I'm not telling you what that is. HA! Jan Color Challenge-Free Kit

All I can say is, thank goodness that December is over with. The day after Thanksgiving, I had a Diverticulitis/Colitis attack and found myself in the hospital for 10 days. Then I spent another 30 days gathering my strength back to normal. Needless to say, Christmas just wasn't the same this year. But the highlight of the whole month was a visit, by our 2 Tennessee Granddaughters for a few days. They put a smile on my face and I miss them already.

And now that I'm feeling like my old self again, I'm finding that I actually want to create something. So, I jumped into the DSO Color Challeng e this month and created this small scrapbooking kit.

Childhood memories

I grew up on a street called Rutland Ave in my town. I moved there when I was 7 years old. My sister was just born and I was no longer an only child getting all my parent's attention. While in the front yard, soon after moving in, a blond little girl, named Pat came to my house and introduced herself. After that, we spent many, many days together playing and sharing our little lives together.

Recently, we met up again, thanks to Facebook, and had such a good time going over our childhood lives. I put together this scrapbook page to remember that special time in the 50's.

FREEBIE-Round Mat Cut Apart Frame

Here's a freebie that I made for you today. I made a circular mat and sliced it up into sections, so that I could fill the sections with different papers. In the center, I wanted to be able to put a photograph.

By using the clipping mask in PS, you can easily attach your papers and/or photos to the sections. I have included a finished one to give you an idea of how it can look.

Also, in the download, I have included a Style that I made and used on each filled section to make them "pop". Just click on the template to get the download. The template is in .psd format with each section being on a separate layer.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful with your scrapbooking layouts.

Wow, California is gorgeous right now. All this wonderful rain and sunshine has brought us green hills and flowers everywhere. There are photo opportunities everywhere you look. I will say, however, that I'm looking forward to an end to the rain, so that I can put out the patio furniture and hit the nursery for some new garden flowers. Until then, I'll just create pretty flowers on the computer and have fun in photo shop.

YIPPEE SKIPPEE! I'm moving right along, this month and have just finished a FREE little kit for Kim's DSO Color Challenge. I know that I've said it before, but I enjoy this color challenge each month. It challenges my feeble brain with Adobe Photoshop.

Soon 3 of my gf's will be arriving from out of town for fun and games. We'll be eating and shopping and creating in photoshop. I think we even have a little sewing project planned. Kims DSO Feb Color Challenge

Happy Valentine's Day! My little kit for Kim's Feb DSO Color Challenge isn't Valentine themed, but it's FREE for the taking. At my house, it's Winter Olympics time and my DH probably will be showing his face to me again, in about 2 weeks. I expect that his eyes will be square at that time. I'll keep busy with Photoshop and getting ready for a bathroom remodel. I've been putting it off for a long time. Well, the shower door broke, this last week, and the whole project is now "in my face". I'm sure it'll all be worth the inconvenience, once it's all done. Kim's Jan DSO Color Challenge

The Christmas stuff has been tucked away for another 12 months and I can get back to life as I know and like it. And to add to the stress, I took delivery of a new computer with Windows 7 during that time. In between all the holiday stuff, I worked on loading it up with all the goodies and programs that I like best. Well, after having to restore it back to factory status about 5 times, I realized that something just wasn't right. So, I made a call to the manufacturer and they promptly arranged for a pick up and return. A new one is on it's way to me and then I get to start all over again. ARG!!

SO, to keep myself occupied, I put together another FREE kit for Kim's Color Challenge using her chosen colors. As I started to design, it seemed to scream out colors of the Red Hat Society. Brrrr...is anyone as cold as I am? But, that's ok, cause it's raining now and I love the rain. It means that my garden is getting good and soaked for springtime blossoms and I can look forward to a nice pot of hot tea every day.

Kim's Nov DSO Color Challenge

This last month, my DH and I took a trip to PA and DC to visit friends that we haven't seen in quite a while. What a great time we had visiting historic sites and viewing the turning leaves of Fall. Although, I WILL say that I think we have reached the end of vacations that require lots of walking. We were so tired at the end of each day and aching in places we forgot were part of our bodies. HA! But, all in all, it was wonderful visiting part of the East coast.

After taking a week to catch up on home stuff and pulling myself away from my new iPhone, I sat down to play with Kim's DSO Nov Color Challenge. The colors were so typical of what I had just witnessed on vacation, so I was thrilled to jump into it. In fact, I have watched 3 Lifetime Channel movies, and downed a pot of tea while creating it. LOL

While checking out some freebie sites, I came across some of my elements that I extracted and included in my kits to About.com, being put into a new kit and claimed as the designers own. I requested that the items be removed and she has, since, removed the kit. She says she got them from cufreebiesonline site. So, be careful if you download from that site and think that something is commercial free.

Kim's Oct DSO Color Challenge

YES, oh YES, oh YES. It's Fall and my "most" favorite time of the year. I'll be spending time, next week, taking loads of photos of this wonderful season.

Kim from DigiScrapObsession (DSO) tossed a crazy mix of colors to us for October, thanks to her DH. I wasn't sure that I'd participate as I just stared at them in disbelief. HA! See what I mean?

But, after a few days of recovering from this palette choice, I opened up Photoshop and found a photo of a cute ceramic figurine that I found at a girlfriends house. The colors were perfect and set me in motion. I usually design with a Vintage touch, so this is a real stretch for me. Hope you enjoy it. Also, I took a little liberty with the tones of the colors. They just "worked" for me much better.

Kim's Sept DSO Color Challenge

Ok, I've had ENOUGH of this hot weather and want my favorite FALL weather to return. I'm tired of looking and wearing my summer clothes and am admiring the sweaters and pants that are just sitting and waiting for me to put on. I've drank enough iced tea to fill a dump truck and want to brew hot tea again. The only downside to the bright summer days is that my garden will lose all the pretty colors and blooms that greet me each morning as I give them their morning drinks. But, perhaps that big black carpenter bee will find somewhere else to go instead of checking me out each day. HA! And soon, I have another girl friend trip planned. Spa, Photoshoping, shopping, eating!! WOO HOOO!!

SO, while waiting for FALL weather, I spent time playing with Kim's DSO Color Challenge for this month and came up with this little kit. It's FREE for the taking. Kim's DSO Color Challenge-August

Kim's DSO Color Challenge this month had the most lovely colors for Summer. I just kept thinking of sherbet ice cream the whole time that I was playing with the colors. It was hard to cut this one off from elements and papers. But I managed to pull away from it last night. If you have the time, you should really jump in and join the fun. Designing a layout, papers, elements, or quick page will earn you a lovely free kit by Kim, in this color palette.

On another note, we have a new Great Grandson (Alexander) in our life, thanks to our Grandson Jason and his wife, Samantha. He's absolutely perfect! He was also born on his Great Grandpa's birthday for an even better surprise.

Kim's DSO Color Challenge-July, #2

This is the 2nd color palette that Kim presented to us for our double whammy DSO Color Challenge, this month. I sure hope that this doesn't become a habit. My eyes are blurred and crossed. But, I love every second of the designing process, so I won't whine. And, actually, the reward of a kit, from Kim, using the month's colors, is all worth it.

Kim's DSO Color Challenge-July

I've just completed another Color challenge from Kim's DSO forum. I tell ya, she tosses these color palettes at us and EXPECTS that we will come up with layouts and kits from them. HA!! We fool her, every time, with lots and lots of goodies. Last time I looked, she had over 10,000 hits on her Color Challenge forum. And that's just for 1 month. AMAZING!!

This month she has given us 2 palettes, so I guess I'll be trying to make sense out of the next one before the month is over. The idea is that we were to choose 3-4 colors from this palette to design our layout or kits. This is the palette she gave us to work on for the 1st challenge, this month.

Aunt Jane's visit

In early June, my Aunt Jane and Cousin Sondra came to visit for a few days. I hadn't seen them in many years and was so thrilled to be their hostess. My Aunt is my Dad's youngest sister and the last of 7 siblings. She's very interested in the history of our family (Sims) and came with lots of information and pictures to share. I now have pictures of grandparents going back to my Great, Great, Greats. What a treat to have those photos along with documented history going back to Belgium.

I had a lot of enjoyment, creating a scrapbook page to remember the visit.

Alexander's Quilt

Yesterday, I delivered the new baby quilt to my Granddaughter-in-law, who is expecting our 2nd Great Grandson, Alexander. He should be here in the next couple of weeks. I saw his 3D ultrasound yesterday and he's got fat cheeks and smile waiting for us. What wonderful technology we have nowadays. Gosh, I remember when we just had to sit and wait for 9 months before knowing what sex our baby would be. Truly amazing.

Here's a picture of the quilt. I finished it about a month ago, but didn't want to post it until it was presented to Samantha and Jason. It's full of cute little jungle animals that he can identify as he grows older.

Disney World 2009

It only took me the whole day to do it, but I actually finished a scrapbook page. Well, actually, I had a lot of "But Firsts" that got in the way. HA! It was a great way to escape the heat anyway. Just my computer and my a/c. Ahhhhh!!!

I started it with a template from Weeds & Wildflowers LIFE365 templates. I had a lot of pictures, so I just picked out the template for 14 photos and away I went. Couldn't have been easier to clip my photos into place and add all the goodies and text that I wanted.

Kim's DSO Color Challenge-June

WHAT? It's June?? GEESH, what happened? I've been on the move for about 1 1/2 months and just found time to enjoy Kim's DSO Color Challenge. I "SO" look forward to doing this every month, as I've said before.

I was fortunate, lately, to spend a week with girlfriends in Carson City/Reno. We did Photoshop stuff; visited a great spa at the Atlantis Hotel, Reno; Ate till we could eat no more; attended Menopause the Musical and shopped til we dropped. My suitcase was stuffed with 5 more new pairs of shoes from DSW. LOL Then I spent another 5 days with girlfriends for quilting in Angels Camp. Also, I hosted a visit from my Aunt Jane and cousin, Sondra from Oregon. I had not seen them in ages and my head is full of family history information and pictures to go with it all. We had such a fun time. Plus my garden is prettier, thanks to Sondra's green thumb.

Kim's DSO Color Challenge-May

It's been a busy month since the last posting, but I managed to find the time for Kim's May Color Challenge. We spent a week in Disney World and walked until we could walk no more. The plane ride home was a nightmare since we ran into a storm in Dallas. After 10 hours in a plane to just get from Orlando, FL to Dallas, Tx, we ended up spending the night in the airport on cots. All hotels were booked from other stranded travelers. When we got home, I regrouped and took off to spend time with girl friends, Judy and Danna, in Reno/Carson City. Great time and good therapy!

Garden Party Quilt Show-2009

Last Saturday, I attended the Garden Party Quilt Show, hosted by my guild, the Santa Clara Valley Quilting Association. It was held at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Kim's March 09 Color Challenge

Here I am with another mini kit for Kim's Color Challenges. I missed last month, as I've had some computer problems. Plus, sorry Kim, but I just couldn't get into those colors. She gives us 5 colors and we are to create a layout or mini kit with them.

The hard drive, went out in my, less than a year old, HP computer. Fortunately, I keep backups on externals. WHEW! Rather than deal with HP's tech support...and I'll leave it at that....I just took it to The Geek Squad at Best Buy and had them fix it. It's, actually, still there. My laptop has been getting a good work out because of it. However, not before a problem started with it too. Since Comcast gives me McAfee for free, I decided it was time to uninstall Nortons (purchased) and just use McAfee. Well, the computer had a different opinion. Norton's had embedded itself in so many places, that it caused networking problems along with a few others. I spent time with Comcast and Sony tech support to try and get it working. We finally gave up after an hour and did a complete recovery. That meant reinstalling everything. What a pain, that always is. And I'll be looking at reinstalling when I get the desktop back too.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!! This month found me down and out for a week and a half with the flu bug. Awful stuff. And this was with a flu shot in me. GRRR!! But, I'm back on my feet and ready to get through this busy time of the year. Kim's DSO Color Challenge was first on my list, as I always learn a lot about Photoshop while making something to share on her forum. YAY! I finished the quilt that I was making for my friend, Judy's, daughter's new baby. The theme is Dick and Jane and today is the shower where she will receive it. I can't WAIT to hear how she likes it. I even had time to show it off at the Santa Clara County Quilting Association meeting, last week, before putting it in the mail. A QP For My New Kit

Today found me sitting here and playing with my new kit. I'm sharing a quick page that I made to go along with it. However, I WILL admit that I took a little road trip to the mall and did some shopping at Macys for awhile, before designing it. Found some great bargains. One is a new winter coat. And with the change in the weather lately, I'll be wearing it REAL soon.

DH and I have started a new walking regime every morning for 2 miles. It's actually turning out to be a really great thing. I have lots more energy for shopping. LOL

October finds me quilting on a new baby quilt that I'm pretty excited about finishing. I'm working on the actual quilting part now and hope to have it finished this month. That's the goal anyway.

My goal to learn Photoshop, this year, is still progressing in a forward direction. YES!!! I no longer go back to Photo Impact because I'm frustrated with Photoshop. Another YES!!! Creating scrapbook pages from family pictures gives me such pleasure. Sure better than just viewing pictures in a photo album.

What the heck causes a person to become so obsessed with Kim's Color Challenges that nothing else gets done until it's completed. HA! Well, at least I got the bills paid. WHEW! Otherwise, I'd be putting this kit together, with my laptop and sitting on the front sidewalk and hoping that a neighbor brings me a Starbucks Green Tea Soy Latte. ANYHOO....I'm done and, once again, had a wonderful time putting it together. Each month, I spend learning more and more about Photoshop and realizing that the kits, papers and elements are going together easier all the time.

Now I can begin a new baby quilt that I'm just "itching" to start.

Uppercase Living fun

OMG!! It's been a whirlwind of fun with girlfriends, Judy and Danna visiting. Eating, shopping, computer and photoshop practicing. We have all learned so much. And today we put up some Uppercase Living wording in a few places in my house. I LOVE IT!! They add so much to an area. This one is a picture of the entry into my living room. Above the entry it says "It's Good to Be Home".

We, actually started out in the kitchen with Bon Appetit on the back splash of my stove top. The surface is Silestone and it applied with no problem at all.

To add a warm feeling to the front door, I placed a "Welcome".

It sure was easy to apply these. I can't wait to put "CREATE" in my computer room next. Check out Uppercase Living at Danna's site listed on side of my blog.

A New QP for Kim's CC

I'm getting ready to have some girlfriends (Judy and Danna) come visit this coming weekend and am so excited. We will be eating, shopping and playing with Photo Shop. YIPPEE SKIPPEE!! We always come away with so many ideas and tips when we all get together. Not to mention the DSW shoes that will be added to our collections. hehehe Oh, and Danna, who is a demonstrator for Upper Case Living, will be helping me put up some quotes on my walls. Kims August Color Challenge

I'm back from a wonderful cruise to Alaska taken on a Stern Wheeler called the Empress of the North. This is our 2nd cruise on this small ship and we've loved doing it each time. The first was down the Columbia and Snake Rivers in Oregon. But this Alaska cruise was spectacular. I took a helicopter ride so that I could walk on a glacier one day. Then hiked with an armed guide through the forest to watch bears catching salmon another day. The bears were so close that it was scary. Fifteen whales played around our ship made for some great camera shots! And I've seen more eagles that I've ever seen in my life. So, if you get a chance, be sure to visit Alaska.

I jumped right into doing another Color Challenge for DSO and Kim. This is the kit I came up with after spending days and days in Photoshop as I continue to get through my learning curve. I get luckier every day. Yesterday, another close friend and struggling PS user sent me a QP she put together using my July AND June CC kits. If this keeps up, we'll end up with a mini album. Remember though, these are 8x8's since that's the size that myself and my friends use. I'll have to retrain them to do 12 x 12's. HA! And you KNOW how hard it is to retrain friends. hehehe Click on the images to download.

I'm also sharing some papers that I put together yesterday while playing around with overlays and then adding color. As I've said before, PS is all new to me so I'm still in the learning curve. This exercise with overlays gave me some good practice.

Here comes the heat wave outside. Good day to stay inside & out of the bad air quality we're having because of the heat and the fires still burning our beautiful forests here in Calif. So Sad.

Kims July Color Challenge

Kim has posted another Color Challenge at DSO forums and I'm jumping in, once again. I WILL say that putting together a mini kit forces me to use Photoshop and learn new things. So, it's a win/win situation for everyone. One of my favorite colors is red, so it was fun for me to use that color in a mini kit. I'm still in awe on how people can put together the Actions in PS. I watch all those scripts pass over my screen and it boggles my mind. But, I'm glad that someone has taken the time to put them together. It saves me a hunk of time, that's for sure.

Kims June Color Challenge

Another month has passed me by. Where DID it go? Between some travel and getting through Adobe Photoshop lessons, I've been busier....but smarter. HA! Learning this program has been my goal for this year. I've been trying to get to it for years.

Because of the Beginner and Intermediate PS lessons, I have jumped into making my first mini kit. Now don't get excited, it's small and basic. But it's my first one and I'm thrilled to have accomplished this much in PS. It is a kit to submit to Kim's Color Challenge at DSO. Everyone has contributed so much for Kim's great challenges. Kim at DSO has a wonderful May challenge going on and I just couldn't resist making a QP for it. I used my own design for the paper. Then I chose some of the elements that have been created by others for this fun challenge. The frame and lace are Kim's designs.

Red Hat Bocci Ball Challenge

March also brought my Red Hat group together for a Bocci Ball challenge in Morgan Hill, after a lunch to build up our strength. HA! We divided up into Red and Blue teams. The Blue team won and I was proud to be on that winning team. April has us ready for another challenge by the Red team. We're called The Red Hat District of Silicon Valley.

For this kit, I mostly used Kathryn Etsys "Cute Stuff in Red" kit. The frame was a freebie that I had collected during the Christmas holidays from Fotosusu's Blog.

Mexico fun with the girls

The beginning of March, I joined a reunion of Burlingame High School gals for a 7 day cruise to Mexico on Carnival Cruise Lines. They were all celebrating their 60th birthdays and some had not seen each other since high school. One of my dearest friends was part of that group and invited me along. It was truly a fun experience and at the end of the trip, I felt like I had graduated from that same school. HA! I feel like I made 20 new friends and am looking forward to when we can all gather once again. Here's a picture of all of us dressed in our "finest" and posing on the ships grand staircase.

And then, of course, I had to scrap a layout so that I could remember the trip and my adventure of getting into the water with the dolphins. That was such a wonderful experience and one that I will never forget. They are so gentle and intelligent.

The kit used is called "Colors of Cancun" and it was a freebie from My Digital Addiciton .
