On The Road Again - FREE Kit

Here is my last scrapbooking kit that I will be making for About.com's Graphic site. I had such fun designing kits for them during the last 2 years. But the time has come to move on and step up creating the layouts that I need for my own family.

Thanks to everyone for all the kind words about my kits.

Childhood memories

I grew up on a street called Rutland Ave in my town. I moved there when I was 7 years old. My sister was just born and I was no longer an only child getting all my parent's attention. While in the front yard, soon after moving in, a blond little girl, named Pat came to my house and introduced herself. After that, we spent many, many days together playing and sharing our little lives together.

Recently, we met up again, thanks to Facebook, and had such a good time going over our childhood lives. I put together this scrapbook page to remember that special time in the 50's.

FREEBIE-Round Mat Cut Apart Frame

Here's a freebie that I made for you today. I made a circular mat and sliced it up into sections, so that I could fill the sections with different papers. In the center, I wanted to be able to put a photograph.

By using the clipping mask in PS, you can easily attach your papers and/or photos to the sections. I have included a finished one to give you an idea of how it can look.

Also, in the download, I have included a Style that I made and used on each filled section to make them "pop". Just click on the template to get the download. The template is in .psd format with each section being on a separate layer.

I hope you enjoy it and find it useful with your scrapbooking layouts.

Kim's DSO Aug Color Challenge

WOW, look at these colors that Kim, at DSO, tossed at us, for the August Color Challenge. I usually go for the Vintage/Shabby Chic colors, and tend to design in that direction. But this time, it woke up something else in my creative brain. I had a fun time designing this FREE kit and hope that you'll find a use for it too.

Kim's DSO July Color Challenge

Another month and another opportunity to participate in the DSO Color Challenge, hosted by Kim. Kim tosses us 5 colors and we are to make a kit or layout from them. There are always wonderful submissions to save and use for scrapbook pages.

This week, also has me at the sewing machine and working on a project where we make a quilted bag and then the fun items to go into it. There is a link to the right of this posting, called MAKE SEW ALONG, if you're interested in the directions or joining in. I'm also working on another quilting project and will post a picture of it when I'm finished.

You can download my contribution to the color challenge, for FREE, by clicking on the preview.

Oh, and leave me a note if you save the kit into your scrapping stash. It always puts a smile on my face and warm hug for the day. Thanks.

Garden Laughter - Free Scrapbooking Kit

About.com has posted my new FREE kit, in their graphics section. It's called Garden Laughter. Just click on the preview to be taken to the download section.

Summer has certainly hit Northern California and my garden is thriving from all the rain that we received this year. I have flowers and color everywhere I look. Course I have to tend to them at dusk when the bees go back home. I HATE bees around me. But, I know they are necessary for my garden. So, this seems to be the best compromise. HA!

Enjoy the kit and be sure to leave me a note if you grab it. Thanks.

Pieces of Memories-Free Scrapbooking kit

A new FREE kit, by me, has just been posted on the graphics section of About.com. Click on the preview to be taken to the download section. This one was all about tearing fabric and stitching them together.

And speaking of pieces of memories, I had a lovely reunion, recently, with my childhood girlfriend, Pat. We spent our school years together until I was about 15 yo and moved away from the neighborhood. It was so much fun to remember all the things that we did in the 40's & 50's, back when there were bread, vegetable, ice and milk trucks in and out of the neighborhood and life was simpler. Oops....guess I dated myself with that statement. HA!

Enjoy the kit and be sure to leave me a note if you grab it. And don't forget to grab the kit that I posted yesterday. Thanks.

Kims DSO Jun Color Challenge

Once again, I have contributed to Kim's DSO Color Challenge by designing a small kit. You can download it for FREE by clicking on the preview. I usually design with a vintage kind of look, but somewhere in me, a beachy theme emerged. Where did THAT come from? Maybe, because the sun has, once again, found California and the rain has disappeared. WOW, what a wet Spring we had.
Do you like my kit? If so, please leave a note and let me know you stopped by my little place in the internet world. Thanks

Time Will Tell-Free Scrapbook Kit

Wow, California is gorgeous right now. All this wonderful rain and sunshine has brought us green hills and flowers everywhere. There are photo opportunities everywhere you look. I will say, however, that I'm looking forward to an end to the rain, so that I can put out the patio furniture and hit the nursery for some new garden flowers. Until then, I'll just create pretty flowers on the computer and have fun in photo shop.

A new free kit, that I have created, is now posted on About.com's graphic website and you can have it by clicking on the preview. Enjoy! And if you create a layout, frame, or an element cluster from it, that you'd like to share with us, please send it to me and I'll be glad to post it for others to enjoy.

Kims DSO Apr Color Challenge

YIPPEE SKIPPEE! I'm moving right along, this month and have just finished a FREE little kit for Kim's DSO Color Challenge. I know that I've said it before, but I enjoy this color challenge each month. It challenges my feeble brain with Adobe Photoshop.

Soon 3 of my gf's will be arriving from out of town for fun and games. We'll be eating and shopping and creating in photoshop. I think we even have a little sewing project planned. Not to mention the pedicures and all the laughing that goes on. I CAN'T WAIT! We always learn so much as we bounce ideas off of each other. Time to turn my sewing room back into a guest room now. Poor DH doesn't stand a chance with all the gals in the house. LOL

A Comfy Spring Day

I've submitted another FREE digital, scrapbooking kit to About.com. This one is titled "A Comfy Spring Day" and is yours for the taking. I hope you can use the pieces to create a digital scrapbooking page of memories.

I'm a little late posting the note, as I just got back from visiting my daughter in Austin. It was a fun visit with lots of shopping and chatting. She's a cat trapper and involved with Austin Siamese Rescue and Austin Humane Society, so there were lots of pretty kitties to pet and play with. They are lucky to have her in their little lives.

Just click on the preview to download.

And if you're looking for a place to purchase good quality digital scrapbooking items, be sure to click on the blinking banner, on the right side of the page, that I have for DigiDesignResort. You won't be disappointed. Designers using PS or PSP will enjoy their Safari Lounge for beginners and Intermediate users.

Kims DSO Feb Color Challenge

I have a FREE mini kit to offer for the DSO Color Challenge, this month. Kim's chosen colors are looking like Easter and Springtime. It's raining outside, but I got into the Spring fever mode. I was listening to the birds, singing and decided to use that for my theme, this time.

This month found me busy having our main bathroom remodeled. Lots of preparation, shopping and supervising to do. But, it's done and looks FAB, compared to how it looked before. AND, this is my birthday month. At my age, I celebrate it the entire month since I figure that I'm entitled. LOL

Click on the preview to download. Enjoy!

This is a new kit that I made and is available, for free, at About.com. My favorite theme for designing is heritage memories and you'll usually find my kits going in that direction. Often, my kits can be combined and they will blend together nicely.

Kims Feb Color Challenge

Happy Valentine's Day! My little kit for Kim's Feb DSO Color Challenge isn't Valentine themed, but it's FREE for the taking. As usual, Kim gives us 5 colors, of her choice, and we design mini kits and/or layouts for them. Our reward.....A lovely kit that she has designed for us. It's always worth it. She's so talented.
At my house, it's Winter Olympics time and my DH probably will be showing his face to me again, in about 2 weeks. I expect that his eyes will be square at that time. I'll keep busy with Photoshop and getting ready for a bathroom remodel. I've been putting it off for a long time. Well, the shower door broke, this last week, and the whole project is now "in my face". I'm sure it'll all be worth the inconvenience, once it's all done. And with my BFF's coming to visit in April, I sure hope it finishes on schedule.

Just click on the preview to download. If you have time, leave a message and let me know that you've stopped by. Thanks.

Kim's Jan DSO Color Challenge

The Christmas stuff has been tucked away for another 12 months and I can get back to life as I know and like it. And to add to the stress, I took delivery of a new computer with Windows 7 during that time. In between all the holiday stuff, I worked on loading it up with all the goodies and programs that I like best. Well, after having to restore it back to factory status about 5 times, I realized that something just wasn't right. So, I made a call to the manufacturer and they promptly arranged for a pick up and return. A new one is on it's way to me and then I get to start all over again. ARG!!

SO, to keep myself occupied, I put together another FREE kit for Kim's Color Challenge using her chosen colors. As I started to design, it seemed to scream out colors of the Red Hat Society. The purple and red just kept jumping out at me. I hope you like my little free kit. Just click on the preview to download.

My new FREE scrapbook kit, designed for About.com, is posted and ready for download. This one, I had a little fun with, by starting with an Altered Lady. It was actually amusing to seek out her pieces and assemble her. Hope you enjoy her too.

If you create a Quick Page or Layout with this kit, please share it. I love seeing what people create with my kits. Thanks
